Lucky Balls: Queer Family BBQ / Potluck and Kickball Game
Summer is upon us, the sun is finally shining and Pride is just around the corner and there is still work to be done in our community. What better way to raise some funds, enjoy the weather and have some fun than to throw a BBQ and potluck, but... let’s not forget about Kicking balls!...I mean a kickball game too! This is a family/kid friendly event.
How it works...we ask folks to bring a MAIN dish to share or to donate anywhere from $5-10 (no one will be turned away for lack of funds). We will have burgers, hot dogs and condoments available. BBQ grills (a vegan grill will also be available) will be available for those bringing their own protiens. We'll also have plates, cups, napkins and plastic utensils to share. We will gather for the BBQ and potluck part at picnic area A.
In addition to feasting and fun we'll also be holding a 50/50 raffle and will have cookies available for a donation.
At 3:45 p.m we will start gathering at Ball field 3 for some ball kicking fun....that would be in the form of a kick ball game of course. The game will run from 4 p.m to 6 pm. All are welcome to play.
Net proceeds from this event will be donated to the Equi Institute
The Equi Instituts mission is to empower and improve the health of the LGBTQI2S communities of the Pacific Northwest. The Equi Institute provides affordable, excellent, culturally specific, patient empowering health care that fits the needs of the individual rather than trying to make people fit a cookie-cutter model.
